At BCVS, young women from Orthodox Jewish homes are offered comprehensive eating disorder treatment in a positive religious environment.  State-of-the-art care is administered by a team of highly skilled professionals with extensive experience in treating eating disorders, including physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and therapists, without compromising a single halachic principle in the process.  Our multidisciplinary approach to treatment includes cognitive behavioral, drama, art, and pet therapy.

The BCVS program as a whole, including its therapeutic, educational and daily living components, reflects an understanding of a religious lifestyle and its demands in a typical Jewish home.  The celebration of Shabbos and Jewish holidays, for example, revolves around festive meals.  As such, it represents a culturally unique challenge for observant young women suffering with Eating Disorders, one which requires sensitive therapeutic intervention so as to create a healthy relationship with these religiously significant rituals.  Activities conform to halachic guidelines, and kashrus and Shabbos observance are a cornerstone of the program.  The educational component of our program encompasses daily classes in Torah, halachah, and hashkafah, while effective treatment is prioritized above all else.
